The Diamond TechVentures team is led by a team of Investment Managers with backgrounds and
experiences that compliment each. The General Partners experiences span US venture, US start-up,
China operation and China local government. This team is capable of accessing deal flows from all
the sources below radar screen and to help the entrepreneurs in business strategy, operation and
investment relationship to bring out the best value in each of them. Our Key team members are:
Henry H. Wong has resided in China & Silicon Valley for the last 25 years.
From being a Serial Entrepreneur to a Venture Capitalist, Wong is in a unique
position where he can fully utilize his operational experience, investment talent
and his Chinese heritage to help and build companies with a global vision.
In his prior Fund, Crystal Ventures, Wong was active with portfolio companies
including SMIC, LGC Wireless, Infinera, and Exavio. A seasoned investor and
entrepreneur, Wong has succeeded as the founder, chairman & CEO of SS8
Networks Inc., IP Communications, XaQti Semiconductor, CNet Technology
Inc., and Combinet (ISDN Systems). His success, experience and leadership
are invaluable in his role as an Investor, Serial Entrepreneur and mentor in
Silicon Valley.
In 2002, Wong was the finalist to receive the “Entrepreneur of the Year
Award”. Wong is an Advisor to 6 non-profit organizations and is active with
community events. In education, Mr. Wong received a B.Sc. degree in
Business from University of Utah and a MBA in Telecom Management from
Golden Gate University. He is also a Mentor in the Stanford Graduate School
of Business (GSB MBA Program, Stanford)

Before joining Diamond TechVentures LLC, Dr. Wang was the President and
CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of WEX Pharmaceuticals Inc., a
public Canadian Company headquartered in Vancouver with operations in
Hong Kong and China. He took the company through its difficult time after the
termination of clinical trials. With Dr. Wang’s leadership, the company re-
established its clinical studies and raised more than $20M for its next steps in
new drug development.
Before joining WEX, Dr. Wang served as Co-CEO of Oligos Etc., Inc. and was
a Partner at Global Financial Group focusing on private equity fund raising and
investment consulting. As the founder and president/CEO of Yangling SWAN
Biosciences Company Ltd in China, he concentrated on technology transfer
and development successfully. He also has more than 10 years of experience
in biotech R&D and management in Silicon Valley working with such firms as
Affymax, Perkin–Elmer/Applied Biosystems, and BioCircuits.
Between year 2000 and 2002, in addition to his entrepreneurial activities in
China, Dr. Edge Wang served as the Resident Country Director in China for
Mercy Corps to raise and to manage fund for microfinance projects, working
closely with people from government, corporations, investment entities, and
individual entrepreneurs. He also served as the President of the Society of
Chinese Bioscientists in America-Northern California, Board Director of China
Center for Small & Medium-Sized Business Development at Beijing University,
Board Director of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, and Adjunct
Professor in Shanghai Jiaotong University. He was also a Venture Partner at
Burrill and Company, a San Francisco-based Merchant Banking company. He
is an advisor for firms like Cygni Capital and Haft Group (a New York IR firm).
Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. degree (Chemistry) from University of Missouri-
Columbia and had postdoctoral training in University of Wisconsin-Madison.
He also holds an MBA degree with emphasis in Marketing.
Dr. Lee has more than ten years of experience in venture capital investing, and
more than 20 years of experience in research, development, and marketing in
emerging and established technology companies and research institutions.
He was most recently Executive Director and Co-Head for US Private Equity at
CDIB Capital, the private equity arm of CDIB, the largest industrial bank in
Taiwan. He led the venture and growth equity LP investments, led the direct
investment effort in the US, and established the Clean Technology practice at
CDIB Capital. He was based in Menlo Park, Calif.
Prior to CDIB Capital, Dr. Lee was a venture consultant at CVM Capital, a
venture fund with offices in Taipei, Silicon Valley, and Shanghai, and
sponsored by CDIB. Before joining CVM Capital, Dr. Lee was a General
Partner at Crystal Ventures, a venture capital firm that focused on early-stage
infrastructure and enabling technology companies in both the US and Asia. At
Crystal Ventures he led communications-related investments. Prior to Crystal
Ventures, Dr. Lee was Vice President of global venture capital firm Crimson
Ventures in 1999, where he led communications infrastructure investments in
the US. Prior to Crimson, he was Vice President and co-founder of Volendam
Capital Advisors, a venture fund that invests in emerging growth high
technology companies in the US and Europe, including communications and
interactive software. Dr. Lee has held management positions in product
management and marketing at Applied Materials and has worked as a
research investigator in optoelectronics and semiconductor materials at the
US Army Research Labs. He has also held engineering positions at IBM and
Unisys.
Dr. Lee holds a BS (Highest Honors) in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in
Electrical Engineering and Electro-Optics from Cornell University, and an MBA
from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
